Greetings, Friendos! This was a pretty short scene, as they can be sometimes. I like these short scenes because it is less to keep track of and it keeps the story moving.
Today Denckash is getting shaken down by a guard for escorting him to the Scribe's.
Disclaimer: I utilize the Mythic Game Master Emulator (Mythic or Mythic GME) as well as The Solo Adventurer's Toolbox 1&2 (TSAT) & the Solo Wilderness Crawler (SWC) to supplement the adventure and build the terrain. I prepared little outside of the game world I already created, basic hex maps, and some lore that was already written from previous adventures. I will leave links to their respective links to support the authors at the end of this post. I encourage giving them a look!.

Scene 4 - The Writ! - 1st Day of the First Blade - 12:10pm - Day 1
Denckash begins to walk up the stoop to enter the scribes but the guard stops him. She demands payment for the escort.
CL=5, Chaos Roll d10=2, interrupted! Random Event: d100=13, NPC Action, NPC: Guard 1, Subject/Action: Deceive Riches
I think this is the first modified scene! To keep it simple, if a scene is interrupted, a whole new scene is created. If it is altered, there is a change. Originally, the scene was meant for Denckash to walk into the Scribe's, get his writ, and move on. Apparently, Mythic has different plans.
Denckash looks at her in disbelief.
"Excuse me?" he asked justly
"I had to leave my post and I escorted you through these streets, I think payment for my services are in order." She stated.
"Um, no, not happening. You made me come here."
Does this cause the guard to let up? Unlikely 35%, d100=86, no.
The guard stood with her hand out, not backing away.
"Surely, you see how silly this is, right?" Persuasion DC (4d6) 14. d20-2 vs DC14; d20-2=3, fail.
"Last chance, dragonborn." the guard ordered.
"Is it expensive?" he asked. 50/50 50%, d100= 33, yes w/ Random Event!
Random Event: d100=21, NPC Action, NPC: Guard, Subject/Action: Adversity of News
"10 gold pieces, please and thank you. Should you refuse, I'll simply escort you back out of town and you must obtain the writ in Lapoach to come back. Your call." she answered
Denckash thought for a moment. He really was low on gold and didn't want to hand it over to this jabroni. He also didn't want to go all the way back to Lapoach and obtain a piece of paper. Eventually, he would relent and dig into his purse. He only had 5 gold.
"I've only five gold. Will that do?" He asked dejectedly.
Unlikely 35%, d100=33, yes w/ Random Event!
Random Event: d100= PC Negative, Subject/Action: Expose the Intellectual
The guard agrees but leans in close and says, "I normally charge smugglers double. Watch yourself while you're here, okay?" She said with a wink, "Go get your writ." (New thread: Guard Troubles)
Trying to play it off and keep his cool, he feigned confusion.
"Okay…whatever you say." And walked into the Scribes.
It was a little escalated but nothing I couldn't keep under control so the Chaos Level doesn't change.
End scene CL=5, 12:13pm
I didn't see that coming! What does she know? How does she know? If Denckash knows anything, it is to try not to make a scene and not poking around to draw attention to himself. He is playing it cool for now, but he didn't intend to come back to Cokree anytime soon. Hopefully this will be the last we hear of it.
Happy adventuring!
